Μέρα με τη μέρα/Κουρκούλης
Ο Νίκος Κουρκούλης γεννήθηκε στην πόλη της Καβάλας, όπου και μεγάλωσε. Την αγάπη του για τη μουσική την κληρονόμησε από την γιαγιά του, η οποία έπαιζε μπουζούκι καταπληκτικά. Έτσι, κι ο μικρός Νίκος εξέφρασε από πολύ νωρίς την επιθυμία να ασχοληθεί με τη μουσική και γι’ αυτό έμαθε να παίζει κιθάρα και μπάσο. Βέβαια, από πολύ μικρός είχε δείξει και τις φωνητικές του ικανότητες. Μάλιστα, από την εφηβεία άρχισε να τραγουδά σε πανηγύρια της επαρχίας και αργότερα σε διάφορα νυχτερινά μαγαζιά της Καβάλας. Μετά την ενηλικίωσή του ο Νίκος Κουρκούλης αποφάσισε να πάει στη Θεσσαλονίκη προκειμένου να δουλέψει στα νυχτερινά κέντρα της συμπρωτεύουσας.
